How You Can Help

Herrmann’s Royal Lipizzans has been family owned and operated for over five generations. We have been located in Myakka City, Florida, since 1962, making 2022 the 60th year we have been in operation in the United States. Over that time we have continued to uphold traditional European training and shared it with our many visitors and guests.

Here at our farm we are not only proud to continue displaying and conserving the rare Lipizzan breed, but we also keep several rescues of different breeds on the property. We also strive to keep as many as our retired horses as possible with us until they pass on. They have given their youth and working lives to help us and in turn we care for them in their retired years.

We are open to the public and do put on performances in the winter season in Florida. However, expenses do continue throughout the entire year. We have 18 horses on the property at this time and do not plan on touring in the near future.

The yearly cost of one horse is:

  • Feed: $800

  • Hay: $1800

  • Shavings: $200

  • Farrier: $315

  • Vaccinations and wormer: $500

  • This makes a total of $3615.00 per horse, per year, which is roughly $65,000.00 per year for all 18 horses.

  • This total does not include medical emergencies, horses with special needs, farm maintenance such as stall and fence repair, mowing, equipment maintenance and upkeep, new fencing, storm damage, drought, inflation, or any farm improvements.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic and the recent unexpected loss of the family matriarch, Gabby Herrmann, the farm has also incurred substantial legal fees furthering our financial burden.

It is for all these reasons that we are so thankful to those who donate to our cause.

If you would like to help us continue to keep the lost art of classical dressage alive as well as conserve a rare and beautiful breed or give those who have been forgotten a second chance, please donate now. We strive to make improvements to better the lives of all the animals who live here with us. They truly are our children and deserve to be treated as such.
